About us

Living things change—this is true at all times, in all places, and for all forms of life. Four systemically interacting dynamics are particularly shaping the changes of our time and are linked to complex transformation processes: technologization, economization, ecologization, and globalization. These dynamics of the present pose diverse challenges and require new ideas, perspectives, and approaches to shaping desirable futures—ideas that must be conceived and put to practical test in an interdisciplinary manner together with society.

Our House for Young Thinking is a place of encounter and dialogue between science and the public. Through a wide variety of formats, it offers an open forum for discussing the dynamics that shape the future and the ethical questions associated with them—here is a selected overview:

  • Everyone with a healthy dose of curiosity is invited to join the ‘Think Journey’: Together with experts, we’ll embark on a journey into the future of their respective fields of research.
  • The ‘More Than a Word’ format focuses on a single word and explores its various meanings from different  scientific and artistic perspectives. This format is open to all.
  • For students and (young) researchers, we offer ‘Societal Diversity and Social Justice’, an intriguing course on the challenges of an increasingly diverse society.
  • In ‘Meet the Expert’, a small group of interested participants meets with outstanding (international) top scientists to gain a deeper understanding of their work and discuss it in personal dialogue.
  • In tailored workshops with school students, we explore complex ethical topics such as global justice, assisted dying, democracy, or artificial intelligence—and much more!
  • Companies, NGOs and associations can address and discuss ethical questions and challenges related to their specific areas in our customized workshop formats.

Our diverse event formats are grounded in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research: We aim to foster fresh thinking that breaks free from seemingly self-evident limitations in a variety of contexts—with the goal of jointly developing ideas and approaches for a desirable future.

Whether you’re a school student, student, researcher, representative from business or politics, or a committed citizen: All interested parties are warmly invited to get involved in our various formats and actively help shape young thinking!
